ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Monday, October 28, 2002 – Health Resource, the healthcare subsidiary of Catalina Marketing Corporation (NYSE: POS), will deliver U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) public service announcements (PSAs) to retail pharmacy customers through the Health Resource Network.
The announcements will appear in a newsletter that patients receive when they fill their prescription at a participating pharmacy retailer. Accompanying nearly one of every two retail prescriptions in the United States, Health Resource Newsletters include information about a patient’s prescription, award-winning health editorial related to the medication or condition being treated, and health promotion messages.
The PSAs will promote the public educational goals of the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER). These include informing consumers to take an active role in their healthcare, use their medicines properly, and have confidence in the safety and effectiveness of generic drugs.
